Perfect weather for Easter Fair

WITH the sun shining brightly nothing could ruin the perfect day on offer at the Easter Fair in Leslie Park on Saturday.

The fourth Easter Fair proved to be the ideal way for families and friends to celebrate the holiday one day early.

Warwick Tourism and Events CEO Tracy Vellacott said organisers appreciated the beautiful day.

"We could not have asked for better weather," she said.

"And as a result we had a really good crowd.

"It was good to see lots of locals and visitors enjoying themselves.

"We hold this event for the locals as much as we do for the visitors.

"The Easter Fair is an ancillary event but it is nice to know that while we have so many visitors for the holiday that there is something for them to do that highlights the CBD and Warwick region."

Mrs Vellacott said with Easter being a family holiday a lot of emphasis was placed on that this year.

"There were activities for the kids and stalls for the parents," she said.

"It was nice to see such diversity among the stall holders with many travelling from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast to be here."

Stalls included garden wares, plants, homemade crafts, clothes, bags, jewellery, make-your-own candles, sweets and fudge, many different foods and rides for the kids.

Events co-ordinator Shona Gibson said the event worked so well because it was always busy in Warwick on the Easter weekend.

"I could not have been more pleased with how the day has turned out," she said.

"This was only our fourth year and with success like this we are hoping the fair will become a permanent annual event."
