Photo captures Warwick's beauty

A MISTY winter morning has been captured in a stunning snapshot of Warwick's beauty.

Warwick man Peter Hinchley's photo - snapped from Victoria Park during a morning stroll - has been crowned the winning image in the Southern Downs Simply Irresistible Creative Arts Competition. He was awarded $250 for his piece.

Mr Hinchley said he believed his piece took the top prize as it was "soothing" and "pleasing" image that embodied the title of the contest, "Simply Irresistible".

"To me it is the contrast of the colours and the mystique of the mist," he said.

"The trees make a funnel that draws your eye to the middle and I think it captures the essence of country living."

After an international career in film and television, Mr Hinchley moved to Warwick about four and a half years ago to concentrate on photography and writing.

His father bought him a number of books when he expressed his interest in photography and he combined his book smarts with his creative flair to make the most of his talent.

"Anybody can see something but if you have a trained eye, you can look between the scene and see something that captures the essence of the location and the environment."
