Pets enjoy pampering

MORE than 30 local pets enjoyed an escape from the chilly weather at the weekend with a warm hydrobath as part of a St Mary's Primary School fundraiser on Saturday.

The Warwick Vet Clinic hosted the event and matched the funds raised on the day dollar for dollar.

The estimated total raised was $750.

Vet Chris Reardon said despite the cooler weather, he was extremely pleased with the day's turnout.

"It has been a tremendous effort despite the cold weather," Dr Reardon said.

"The first customer was the principal Michelle Campbell's dog."

He said the day was not only a way to support the school, but was also a means to promote responsible pet ownership.

P&F vice-president Brad Strom said he was very appreciative of Mr Reardon's generosity and said the funds would go towards new tables and chairs for the Prep classrooms.

Mr Reardon hopes to continue working with the school and to hold a similar event again next year.
