Photographer captures Swan Creek's kaleidoscope of colour

LOCAL photographer Chris McFerran captured these stunning shots near Swan Creek.

They were taken about 10 minutes apart.

Mr McFerran said it was amazing to see the difference in light and colour at different times throughout Sunday morning.

"The cool air moving into the region, the clarity and the colour of the sky during this time of year is even more amazing than in summer," he said.

"No bush fire smoke in the atmosphere or dust storms out west means the air is crisp.

"It really reflects in the landscape images and from here on and over winter."

Mr McFerran said the secret to capturing images like this was to be up early.

"Look outside and if you see some cloud activity chances are it will light up in 15-20 minutes before sunrise," he said.

"Rug up and get in location before sunrise.

"Oh, and a flask of your favourite hot beverage helps tremendously," he joked.
