Good quality calves push prices up at sale

MCDOUGALL and Sons auctioneer David 'Skip' McIvor said the calf market was dearer due to some good quality calves being yarded this week.

There was a lighter yarding of pigs but prices remained similar to recent weeks.

Light bacon - $200-208

Light pork - top of $159

Store pigs - $56-80

 

Calves

Beef rarer calves - top of $145

Beef grass eaters - top of $320

Light weaners - $360-385

Light trade - top of $180

Dairy bull calves -$27-60
