Pipers and drummers compete at Scots PGC College
THE SOUNDS of bagpipes and drums were heard far and wide on Saturday with the Scots PGC College hosting its 2015 piping and drumming competition.
The mini band and solo competition had something with a Scottish touch for everyone.
Pipe bands from across south-east Queensland travelled to Warwick to show off their musical talents.
College pipes and drums master Sandy Dalziel said he was happy to initiate a day of culture at the college.
"Today we incorporate all that is excellent at Scots PGC College with a musical, activities and entertainment package," he said.
"We've got over 100 solo competitors in pipes and drums from different age groups."

Players spoke about the event being a milestone for the band with the school's music program celebrating 60 years this year.
Visitors experienced local produce, Scottish cuisine and Celtic heritage stalls as part of the competitions celebrations.
The afternoon wrapped up with a massed band performance with everyone coming together to combine their talents.
College Principal Simon Shepherd said he was thankful to those who put the event together.
"It is a great pleasure to be hosting this event and a testament to the commitment of our staff, students and parents," he said.
In the evening, many gathered at the college hall for a night of dancing, Scottish music and poetry from international poet Robert Burns.
