Plan for massive Pentath-run entries

PENTATH-RUN: Karen Gilchrist is hoping for 580 nominations for the 12th annual Pentath-run on May 24-25.

As has been the case from the first year, the event will be a marathon split into five.

The major event change is the move of the 4.6km cross country course from Morgan Park to the Allora Golf Club course.

The cross country will start at the Allora Bowls Club and follow a course used in part for school cross country championships.

Pentath-run president Karen Gilchrist said the group was keen to get Allora involved in the Pentath-run.

"The Allora Sports Club has been wonderful and will put on a barbecue for competitors and supporters during and after the run," Gilchrist said.

The first event on the Saturday is the 21.1km half-marathon from Warwick to Yangan followed by the lunchtime cross country at Allora and then the 3pm 5km run at Sandy Creek.

The Sunday events are the 10km Ascent from Killarney to Queen Mary Falls and then the 1500m to and from Leslie Park.

Gilchrist said she was keen for a lot of children to go in the shorter events.

"The biggest nominations are always in the 1500 metre run up and down Palmerin St," she said.
