Players find top touch

THE Lollback brothers from Allora have both made the Queensland under-15 touch rugby squad.

Players from across Queensland travelled to Rockhampton at the weekend for state trials held in soggy conditions.

All players did Warwick proud.

Blake and Mitchell Lollback are in the state U15 squad while Warwick players Callum Miller and Maddy Charles are in the mixed U17 squad.

The best Warwick representation is in open mixed and mixed masters with four players in each squad.

Jess Carey, Caitlyn McBarron, Wayne Lyons and Jamie Cochrane are set to wear the maroon of Queensland in mixed masters.

Queensland coach Tanya Wright, Jaime Scott, Grant Lollback and Daniel Olzard made the mixed masters squad, while Peter Grayson and Wendy Watson were selected in the mixed senior masters' squad.

The State of Origin games against New South Wales are in Coffs Harbour on July 20-21.

Grayson has represented Queensland and Australia for the past eight years so will clock up nine years in succession this year. He was a Daily News/Warwick Credit Union Sports Star of the Month winner last year.

Australian teams will be named in July to play an international series against New Zealand in October on the Gold Coast.

Last year, a number of Warwick players travelled to Rotorua in New Zealand for the Trans-Tasman Series.
