Warwick fired up to host hockey state championships
WARWICK Hockey Association president Gary Millard has no doubt his association is ready to host another state championship after the weekend over 40s event was an outstanding success.
"We are in the pool of associations ready to host more state carnivals," he said.
"Hockey Queensland knows the facilities we have in Warwick."
"These championships replaced the ones cancelled after the 2010 and 2011 floods.
"Everyone found accommodation in Warwick."
Hockey Queensland over 40s technical manager Rowan Green said some spectacular goals were scored in the championships.
"A lot of former state and Queensland Blades representatives played in the championships," Green said.
"There was a good atmosphere upstairs in the clubhouse during the championships."
Warwick teams missed the play-off for top-six spots.
