Plenty of events for Texas Cup

THE Texas Cup is on again this Saturday at the race track in Flemming Street at Texas.

The first local race is at 1.15pm with the final race of the day being the Jeff Hannaford Texas Cup over 1200 metres.

The inaugural top trainer award at Texas has been sponsored by www.farmneeds.com.au.

There are five classes in Fashions on the Field, teen fashion, chic lady, classic lady, best-dressed man and magnificent millinery.

Prizes are sponsored by NB Style, McCartney and Creed, Hannas, Ron Morris Real Estate, Ros Sinclair Whitegoods, Border Garage, Ensbey Electrical and Conns Friendly Grocer.

There is free children’s entertainment with Santa and a jumping castle.

Bookmakers will operate and Sky Channel will be on course.

Brisbane band 3 Days Off will perform to midnight.

The weekend starts with a calcutta at the Stockman Hotel on Friday night.

A booze bus will operate from the hotel and bowls club on Saturday to the races.
