Plenty of top performances in Maryvale victory

CRICKET: Tom Bourke and Andrew McConnell were the stars as Maryvale Condamine beat Sovereign Animals at Slade Park in Condamine Cup cricket on Saturday.

Batting first, Maryvale scored 9-219 with Tom Bourke hitting 78 and Jason Steketee 65.

Sovereign captain Cahal Davis and Mitch Hay were best with the ball.

Davis opened the bowling and took 3-26 off six overs and Hay was used as fourth change to finish with 3-24 off five overs.

In the Sovereign innings, Joe Wagner top scored with 12 in a total of 54.

After playing in Ipswich last season, Andrew McConnell has started the Warwick season well and took 4-11 off five overs.

New ball bowler Fergus Connolly took 2-7 off five overs, Andrew Ryan 2-15 and Kieran Bourke 2-10

Wheatvale and premiers Warwick Hotel Colts will meet at Slade Park on Sunday from 10.30am.
