Police arrest alleged home invader
A MAN with ties to the Warwick area has been arrested in relation to a violent home invasion that left two people hospitalised and shocked the community.
A CIB spokesman said officers apprehended the 33-year-old at Bray Park in Brisbane on Saturday and he was later charged with the serious offences of burglary with violence and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Police allege the man was one of four males who forced their way into the Warwick property on the evening of August 3 before punching a 42-year-old female resident in the face and knocking down her 45-year-old de facto.
The intruders are believed to have kicked the man while he was on the ground, leaving him with injuries to his ribs, arms and face.
The Bray Park man was also charged with three drug charges and will front the Warwick Magistrates Court on October 4 to face all charges.
No other people have been charged over the incident at this stage, however police investigations are continuing.
In other crime news
TWO 20-year-old Toowoomba men have been arrested after an alleged unsuccessful attempt to evade police following a burglary at a Warwick residence.
Police allege the men were involved in a burglary in the early hours of Saturday morning in which four wheels were stolen from a vehicle parked at the home.
The two men are due to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court this morning to face charges of burglary, assaulting police, evading police and dangerous driving.
A 24-year-old man is also due to appear in the court in relation to the burglary.
