A KEY tip to police led the Toowoomba Tactical Crime Squad to a Helidon property, uncovering an elaborate hydroponic drug lab and a number of illegal firearms.

Charges against two people have been finalised after the morning raid of a Helidon property on Tuesday, with charges against a third yet to be finalised.

More charges are expected to be laid relating to stolen property as investigators continued exploring the residence.

More than 14g of what police will allege is amphetamines, as well as MDMA tablets and some cannabis plants, were located at the property on Tuesday.

Police allege the six small cannabis plants had been grown in an elaborate drug lab in an underground bunker.

TCS Senior Sergeant Scott Stahlhut described the raid as a significant bust for police who had zeroed in on specific intelligence.

"We believe this was linked to Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley area based on what we have located and the evidence gleaned at the premises," he said.

While he would not elaborate further, Snr Sgt Stahlhut said the bust had put a significant dent in the drug supply network in the region.

Police will also allege they recovered two concealed handheld firearms inside a knife pouch worn by a man arrested at the property.

The street value of the recovered drugs is yet to be determined by police estimated it to be in "the thousands".
