Man arrested, cop taken to hospital with facial injury

A POLICE officer was treated at Warwick Hospital for a cut to the forehead after an alleged assault at a property at Canningvale.

Warwick police were called to a disturbance at 2am Saturday at Canningvale.

A 28-year-old man from Warwick was arrested and charged with obstructing police and two counts of assaulting police.

"One of the police officers on scene suffered a laceration to the forehead and was taken to hospital for treatment," a  police spokesman said.

The 28-year-old will face Warwick Magistrates Court on October 30.
