Police chase criminal in thick fog

STANTHORPE Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit at 5.30am on Saturday morning when a vehicle involved in a break and enter offence was sighted.

Police observed the vehicle at the intersection of Britannia Street and Texas Road.

A spokesman said the pursuit was terminated "for public safety reasons" a short time later when the suspect vehicle overtook another in thick fog and across double white lines on Texas Road.

Police subsequently attended an address where the vehicle was located and seized.

One offender, a 34 yr old woman of Marinis Road, Mount Tully, has been charged with the break and enter offence and investigations are continuing to identify others involved.

A date for the woman's court appearance is yet to be set.
