Police chopper needed to end dangerous driving spree

POLICE have charged a man after a vehicle was allegedly driven dangerously overnight.

It will be alleged just after 7:00pm police observed a vehicle, which had allegedly evaded police in Alexandra Hills, travelling on the Ipswich Motorway.

Police tracked the vehicle with assistance from Polair and will allege the vehicle drove dangerously along the Cunningham Highway before crashing in the median strip.

Officers took a man into custody at the scene. No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 25-year-old Boronia Heights man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving uninsured, possessing tainted property, driving unregistered, failing to stop for police and driving a vehicle with incorrect registration plates.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on May 30.
