Police have identified deceased motorcylist after crash

MACKAY police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash near Mirani and relatives have been informed.

The body of the man, 32, was found by a passing motorist on the Mirani-Eton Road just before 6am Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by an ambulance crew who attended.

Police believe the crash happened overnight Friday or early Saturday when the rider failed to negotiate a bend and was thrown from the motorcycle.

His name has not been released.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigated the scene.
