Police investigate house, school break-ins in Goondiwindi

POLICE are investigating a number of thefts in Goondiwindi during the past week.

A school canteen, child care centre and homes were among the targets.

The Goondiwindi State School canteen was broken into between Friday and Sunday.

Police say the thieves broke in by force, stealing items from canteen.

Investigations are continuing, with police working out whether the break-in is linked to a similar crime at the Coolabah Early Childhood Centre.

The child care centre was broken into on Saturday night.

A glass door was reportedly forced open, although no property was taken.

On the same night, a wallet was stolen from a Coolabah Court home during a break-in.

According to police, the owner was home at the time and may have disturbed the intruder.

The intruder entered the home through a front bedroom window before making off with a wallet full of cash.

A Glasser St resident also had a pair of driving lights stolen from their car on Tuesday night.

Police are continuing their investigations and urge anybody with information to contact Police Link on 131 444 or Goondiwindi Police on 4671 7777.
