Police investigate Texas crash

NSW police are investigating a single vehicle crash at Texas on the border west of Warwick on Friday.

A spokesman said about 1.30pm on Friday police and paramedics were called to the Bruxner Highway 10 kilometres west of Texas.

"It is believed a car was travelling west when it left the road and crashed into trees," the spokesman said.

"The vehicle caught alight however was extinguished by a passerby shortly after the accident.

"The driver, a 26-year-old woman, and three passengers were taken to Texas Hospital and later transferred to Royal Brisbane Hospital suffering serious injuries."

Detectives from Inverell and forensic officers attended the scene and inquiries into the circumstances leading up to the crash are continuing.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash or the circumstances leading up to it to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
