Police officer's dream becomes reality

IT IS a cliché, but when new constable at the Warwick Police Station, Alyce Moran started last week, it actually was a dream come true for her.

"I've always wanted to be a police officer," Constable Moran said.

"I've wanted to be one since I was about four years old, so it's nice to get to where I wanted to.

"It's a common answer but I've always liked helping people and hopefully I can do that in my role here."

Constable Moran has moved from Brisbane to begin her career, after six months at the police academy.

But she is no stranger to Warwick.

"I've been to the rodeo before," she said.

"My family have also got some property here as well, so even though I'm from Brisbane, I've got an idea of the town.

"You don't get to choose where you go after graduating from the academy, but you do get a preference and Warwick was my preferred choice.

"One thing I've always noticed about the town is that the people are really nice and they treat you well."

Constable Moran said she now looked forward to integrating into the town.

"I'll be on general duties so I'll probably do a bit of everything," Constable Moran said.

"I'm looking forward to meeting all the people in the community."
