Police say 'disappointing display' led to crash, charges

A "DISAPPOINTING” display of behaviour has seen a man be charged following a single-vehicle crash about 7km north of Leyburn.

Police were called to the crash about 12.30am on Friday on Toowoomba-Karara Rd.

Senior Constable Matt Swan said the vehicle left the road and came to rest in a drain, causing the trailer to lose its load.

The Pittsworth man, 49, allegedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.129.

He was charged with multiple offences including drink driving, failing to have proper control of a vehicle, and driving while unregistered and uninsured.

He is due to appear at Warwick Magistrates Court on October 30.

"It was certainly a very disappointing display of behaviour on our roadway which not only endangered the driver's life but also other road users,” Senior Constable Swan said.
