Police seize drugs at Applethorpe vehicle intercept

STANTHORPE police seized cannabis with an estimated value of $35,000 last week during a vehicle intercept at Applethorpe.

A spokesman said 1.5 kilograms of dried cannabis separated into five separate packages was discovered concealed in bags of garlic when police intercepted a utility travelling on the New England Highway.

It is alleged that the drugs were on their way to Tasmania for distribution by the 43 yr old man who resides at Amiens. Instead, he was charged with possessing the drug and bailed to attend Stanthorpe Court later in the month.
