Police uncover 34g of marijuana in search

A STANTHORPE man has been given drug diversion after allegedly being caught with 34g of marijuana yesterday.

Wallangarra Police Sergeant Alan Baker said police conducted a search warrant at a Wallangarra property about 9.30am.

The search was a coordinated operation executed by Wallangarra Police, Stanthorpe Criminal Investigation Branch and Tenterfield Police.

The 42-year-old man was eligible for drug diversion and no further punishment will be given.

A 43-year-old Wallangarra man was also charged as a result of the search.

He was allegedly in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was subsequently charged with possessing a dangerous drug, drug utensils and a restricted article under the weapons act.

He will face Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on November 21.
