THE Warwick Potters have moulded a perfect end to another massive year, unveiling their latest project at a Christmas Party on Friday night.

Focus was shifted from the Christmas Tree to the erection of three new totem poles featuring work by each of the club's members.

Warwick Potters president Raye Batham came up with the idea of the totem poles after seeing a photo online.

"I suggested we do this as a collective group, combining all three of our different classes of potters," she said.

"Each person made a cube with their own design and name on it."

Mrs Batham said the totem poles would be added to over the years so new members could also contribute.

It's been a big year for the potters, who have hosted successful weekly classes and workshops plus their busy Jumpers and Jazz events.

There was plenty of celebrating, gift-giving and laughs at the Christmas party.

Meanwhile, the junior potters swapped their kilns for the kitchen on Saturday - whipping up some tasty Christmas treats.

Mrs Batham said Christmas break-up was the last kids' pottery event for the year.

"We've had a great bunch of kids through this year. It's been a lot of fun," she said.

"Our kids' workshops won't recommence until February."

The Warwick Potters Christmas Shop also opened on Friday night, with word starting to get out about some of the pieces up for grabs.

"There's plenty of cups and bowl and sculptures - a real array of pieces," Mrs Batham said.

"We've got some lovely handmade platters ready for Christmas."

The Potters Christmas Shop is open each Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday until Christmas from 10am to 4pm.
