Christmas comes early as pottery students take the wheel
A LITTLE bit of creativity is encased in the clay of the works of Warwick's youngest potters.
A group of a dozen kids had their hands on the spinning wheel on Saturday, taking part in Warwick Potters workshops.
From Christmas trees to bookmarks, the junior potters were kept busy etching their creativity in clay.
Among them was Naomi Almond, who made Christmas tree, reindeer and bookmark.
"I learn you can use all of kind of things to make pots - rolling pins and tooth brushes," she said.
"You can use credit cards to smooth the clay."
Saturday's session was part of a program of workshops held by the potters throughout the year.
Warwick Potters president Raye Batham said she was pleased with the turn out.
The next potters workshop is the kids Christmas break-up on December 5 from 9am to 11am.
The festive season is coming early to the potters this year, with the Christmas shop opening on December 4. "It's a Friday night. It'll be our Christmas party and opening," Mrs Batham said.
"That'll stay open each Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday until Christmas."
