Power now restored to all households
UPDATE, 1PM: POWER has now been fully restored to more than 1000 household affected by this morning's outage in the vicinity of Warwick Hospital.
Ergon Energy says there was "no indication of a specific event" this morning.
A spokesman said it was likely a past event, such as a lightning strike during a storm, had weakened the section of line in question and it had "given way" this morning.
UPDATE: OVER 30 Warwick homes remain without power after powerlines went down near Australiana Park this morning.
Ergon Energy spokesman Rod Rehbein said 34 homes in the immediate area are still without power.
An initial 1378 homes lost power around 7.40am this morning when the powerlines first went down but Mr Rehbein said only 34 residencies remained without power as of 9.07am.
Ergon is still trying to determine why the powerlines went down.
EARLIER: MORE than 1000 Warwick residents are currently without power.
Ergon Energy spokesman Rod Rehbein said powerlines near Warwick Hospital are currently down, meaning 1378 residents have been without power since 7.40am this morning.
Mr Rehbein said power is expected to return for most residents in the next 15 minutes, while those in the immediate area should see their power return around 10.30am this morning.
Ergon is still trying to determine what caused the powerlines to go down.
