DRAG RACING: Three members of the Pratt family will contest this weekend's JP Racing Dragfest at the Warwick Dragway.

Jason Pratt, brother Rodney and their father Michael Pratt will all compete tomorrow and Sunday. All three have raced at the Warwick Dragway since the one-eighth mile (200m) strip was built.

Jason is in the street class with a VH Holden Commodore while Rodney will race in the same class in an LH Torana.

Michael will drive a LJ Torana in fast street.

Two years ago, Jason won the street class at Dragfest in a SF Holden Commodore.

He is competing in a different car this weekend after working on his VH Commodore for the past month.

"I work on the car each day and am confident I will give it a good go,” Jason said.

"I am there to have fun but it is good to win. There are a lot of fast cars coming to Dragfest.”

Jason didn't compete in round 1 of the series this year so will be aiming for a round win this weekend rather than a series win.

"Drag racing is fun, gets young people off the street and is an adrenaline rush if you have a fast enough car,” he said.

Michael races the most of the three competing at Carnell Raceway at Stanthorpe and at Willowbank.

"Dad and I are talking about trying the Roma track out too,” he said.
