Pratten man faces court on extortion, robbery charges

A PRATTEN man is facing at least 10 different charges, ranging from extortion to attempted robbery, in the Warwick Magistrates Court today.

The 43-year-old was arrested yesterday after Leyburn police allegedly found marijuana and drug utensils during a search warrant at a Pratten home.

The man has been the subject of a robbery and extortion investigation.

Leyburn police officer-in-charge Acting Senior Constable Steven Gibbs said police located 160grams of marijuana and marijuana utensils at home.

The man is facing charges of willful damage, two counts of extortion, two counts of stealing, attempted robbery in company, entering a dwelling with intent in company, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug untensils.

Snr Const Gibbs said police were opposing the man's bail.
