Precious gift unwrapped for all this Christmas

FOR many, Christmas is an opportunity to share gifts with loved ones gathered around the tree, creating memories that stay with us forever.

For the people of Vineyard Christian Church, this past Sunday marked their annual Christmas presentation Heaven's Child where a different unwrapping occurred on this special Sunday. Ps Jeremy and Anita Greening love sharing about Jesus at Christmas.

He is after all, the central reason the world gathers to celebrate and He brings hope in what is becoming an increasingly challenging world in which we live.

Using a great bunch of volunteers, multi-media, songs and carols, the Vineyard team 'unwrapped Jesus' in a memorable presentation loved by the congregation who attended.

"The presentation was of a very high standard, the singing was superb, the dancing was excellent and the whole morning was just so professional right down to the fabulous morning tea at the end,” church member Jacqueline Hawkins, said

"The way the message was presented about the unwrapping of Jesus was something I hadn't heard explained in this way before.”

'Heaven's Child' presented the idea that Jesus came wrapped in four different ways.

Jesus the King came wrapped in swaddling clothes as a new born baby lying in a manger.

Jesus the Messiah came wrapped in a seamless robe and went about doing good during His time on the planet.

Jesus the life-giver came wrapped in grave clothes as He came and died for us all for the forgiveness of our sin.

Jesus, the resurrected King came wrapped in garments of shining white as he rose from the dead and victoriously conquered the grave.

You are invited to celebrate the unwrapping of Jesus with the people of Vineyard Christian Church at both one hour Christmas services at 85 Connor St. Everyone is welcome to join us Christmas Eve at 6pm and Christmas Day at 9am.

Families with small children will be provided with colouring sheets provided upon entry and a candy cane will be given to all who come along.

From Ps Jeremy and Anita Greening and the Vineyard Christian Church family, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!
