Springborg's prime lambs win big at Warwick Show
HE'S used to having a bit of opposition, but this time Southern Downs MP Lawrence Springborg has come out on top.
The State Opposition Leader blitzed the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society's Hoof and Hook competition, taking out the champion and reserve champion pen of lambs.
Mr Springborg won both the pen of three prime dorper lamb and prime crossbred lamb classes with lambs bred on his Yelarbon property.
"It's a real privilege to be considered among such great quality lambs," he said.
"Our region produces the best lambs in the state and some of the best in the country. To have mine recognised among them is an honour." It's not the first big win for Mr Springborg and his lambs, with the MP having a win in the prime lamb competition at this year's Warwick Show.
The veteran MP described his competition at the Hoof and Hook as "strong".
"I've won a category at the hook before but this is the first time I've won the champion or reserve," he said.
