How text messages landed Warwick father in hot water
A FATHER of one was given 12 months probation for text messages he sent to his ex-partner and mother of his child.
The aggressive text messages breached a domestic violence order taken out against the 23-year-old man by the victim.
"The nature of the offending was only text message," the man's duty lawyer Bonnie O'Brien said.
Magistrate Bevan Manthey said the nature of the offence showed an, "utter disrespect for women."
"These are disgusting. They just show a lack of repsect and it is a breach of an order," Mr Manthey said.
Mr Manthey warned the that scope of domestic violence extended beyond physical violence.
"Domestic violence is so wide and people don't realise," he said.
The Warwick man was given 12 months probation for the breach.
