Probus members’ very merry party

THEY may be retired business people enjoying the quiet life, but the members of the Warwick Combined Probus Club are a busy lot.

The group came together yesterday at the Warwick RSL Memorial Club for their annual Christmas break-up, celebrating what has been a memorable year for the almost 100 members.

President Val Dayus, who joined the club four years ago, said it had been a brilliant year for the Probians.

"We've been on so many trips - we went to Yeppoon and Fraser Island this year," she said. "Sixty of us are going to see the Lion King next week - we're always out at shows."

For 14 years the Warwick Combined Probus Club has brought together retired business people for social outings and friendship.

Mrs Dayus said the Warwick Combined Probus Club were a very happy group of people.

"We're all business retirees just out to prove we can have fun too," she said.

"We just enjoy ourselves - it's all about enjoying ourselves."

Each month members of the group meet for a luncheon at the Warwick RSL Memorial Club - always held on the third Wednesday of the month.

The Warwick Combined Probus Club has big things planned for 2015, with more outings, shows and get togethers - and plenty of fun and laughter along the way.

"If people would like to join, they can approach member who can invite them along," Mrs Dayus said.
