Pull up a pew and enjoy the St Mark’s fete
ST MARK’S fete-goers will have the opportunity to take home a piece of Southern Downs church history tomorrow.
The grounds of the historic St Mark’s Anglican Church will be packed will families for the annual parish fete.
This year’s event will include a special auction, which is sure to draw plenty of interest.
Fete chairman Greg Carey said half a dozen church pews would be auctioned off at the fete.
“People just love these old pews,” he said.
“They’re not something you can buy every day.”
The pews are thought to be as much as 100 years old, and will be auctioned at 11am.
Aside from the auction there will be stalls, a monster jumble sale, entertainment and demonstrations.
For the kids there will be a jumping castle, an animal nursery and face painting.
