Query on form and Australian cricket team selection
Howzat column with Michael Bourke
HOW does T20 form from the BBL transfer into one-day cricket form and selection?
The Aussie selectors rightly or wrongly have chosen three players for their 50-over games against England on form from the BBL in Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson and Cameron White.
Maybe it can work as evidenced by Jason Roy's century for England after playing in the BBL. If that's the case then maybe D'arcy Short or Ben McDermott deserve an opportunity.
Outside chance
COULD Warwick's Mark Steketee be a bolter later in the season for an Aussie T20 side when the Test team tour South Africa and the Aussie T20 side is scheduled to play at the same time?
Steketee's slower balls have improved this season and he will be an outside chance if he can improve his death bowling at the end of the innings.
Harvey a star of future
HOW good will Victorian 17-year-old left hand batsman Mackenzie Harvey turn out to be?
Harvey will be the youngest BBL player in history if he debuts in the competition for the Melbourne Renegades after replacing Aaron Finch who is on Aussie duties.
The youngster's half century for the Cricket Australia XI against the full strength England side last week secured his BBL contract.
