Quest on to find new crew

THE Warwick Sailing Club will hold a social day for prospective new members at Leslie Dam on Sunday.

The club is being revitalised since the dam filled in the past year.

Six boats will be at the social day on Sunday, along with the club rescue boat.

Interested sailors do not necessarily need a sailing boat to be involved in club activities.

The club has strict safety requirements, which include wearing life jackets at all times on the water.

Commodore Gerry Roche said many of the 18-foot skiffs which sailed in the recent Frostbite Regatta would be at the dam for a round of their series on November 5-6.

“Our club will host the regatta,” Roche said.

Anyone interested in the social day is welcome to the sailing clubhouse from 10am Sunday.

A barbecue will be available for lunch. The clubhouse is the first building on the foreshore from the picnic area.

More information from Roche on 4661 4028.
