Road quick fixes are on their way
QUICK fixes on the region’s roads are being done “as quickly as possible” this month’s Southern Downs Regional Council engineering report says.
However more permanent repairs could take many years as council waits for the Natural Disaster Relief and Recover Arrangements (NDRRA) arrangements to filter through.
As reported in today’s Daily News print edition, capital works also look set to suffer significant delays with the news only $1 million of day labour, which has already been well and truly spent, will be covered by the Federal Government.
The engineering department provided councillors at this week’s committee meetings a list of roads closed in the area.
Not all of the closures are due to flooding.
The list is:
Kital Road bridge (Berat)
Strudwicks Road culvert (Yangan)
Cowleys bridge Mullins Road (Talgai)
Haig St (Warwick)
Recka Lane (Severlea)
McKees Rd (unformed section) (Loch Lomond)

Ghost Gate Road (unformed section) (Glengallan)
O’Maras Rd (unformed) (Mt Colliery)
Bourkes Rd bridge (Loch Lomon)
