NO ONE saw South Sydney's massive upset over Parramatta coming.

The Rabbitohs played the ultimate party poopers at Pirtek Stadium, beating the Eels 22-20 at Pirtek Stadium.

The visitors had only won once in their past seven games going into the match.

Not to mention the emotion the Eels were playing with in front of a big home crowd, after being docked 12 competition points by the NRL, and having to offload their favourite son Nathan Peats, in order to be salary cap compliant.

It was all going to plan with the Eels up 14-6 at halftime before outstanding winger Semi Radradra grabbed a hat-trick for the hosts to lead 20-6 early in the second half.

But the Rabbitohs pulled off an extraordinary comeback - through the deadly-accurate boot of halfback Adam Reynolds, some Greg Inglis brilliance and some clever plays from Luke Keary off the bench - to score three second-half tries and get their season back on track.

The Eels now must win 12 from just 14 games after their salary cap violation.

RABBITOHS 22 (M Oldfield, K Auva'a, B Goodwin, L Keary tries; A Reynolds 3 goals) def EELS 20 (S Radradra 3, V Toutai tries; M Gordon 2 goals). At Pirtek Stadium last night.
