Racing returns to Goondiwindi

RACING will return to Goondiwindi's Gunsynd Park on Saturday for the May race meeting.

Club President Michael Watt is expecting a good day despite clashing with a number of other sporting fixtures.

"The weather look like it will be kind and the big Brisbane Carnival continues with Oak Day on the card," he said.

There are five races programmed for the day and with a distinct lack of racing in the district, the club expects good fields.

The last meeting was an outstanding success with the Goondiwindi Picnic Races where three of the five races went to the local trainers.

They could well repeat the dose again this Saturday.

Racing will commence at 1.30pm pending on acceptances..
