Easy to grab a bargain with style at op-shops

WHETHER you're chasing a complete outfit or an addition to your wardrobe, op-shopping can be a great way to save.

As an avid op-shopper, Lifeline Warwick Clothing Superstore manager Stacey Friend knows how to rack up a bargain.

Staying on trend without blowing the budget can be easily done at an op-shop, according to the bargain shopper.

Ms Friend said a savvy shopper could easily hunt for a complete outfit for just $15 to $30, with clothing sorted and priced to ensure customers get the best bang for their buck.

"We're a bit different from other options as we do price by brand," she said.

"So your Big W stuff you can get for really cheap here while sports brands and labels would be a bit dearer."

While there was a perception that second-hand clothing is poorer than buying new, Ms Friend is out to prove it wrong.

"There is a good quality of clothes," she said.

"It's really shocking to see what people do throw out."

As someone who buys a lot of second-hand clothing, Ms Friend said she was happy to help people get the most out of their op-shopping savings.

"We have a lot of women come in but have a good menswear section as well," she said.

"It is definitely possible to shop on trend here.

"We only put out the fashionable stuff that we know people are going to wear."

Not only is op-shopping a great way to save money, it is also eco-friendly and charitable.

Clothing donated to Lifeline is sold in store, with money going to services such as suicide-prevention and 24-hour crisis lines.
