Warwick hockey needs your help
THIS year, more than any previous one, the Warwick Hockey Association needs your help.
If you know a Warwick hockey player, you know the club has been doing it tough.
The summer floods destroyed the playing field, washed away team boxes and goals, and left the clubhouse a muddy mess.
Each year the association holds a raffle to help fund projects, maintenance work as well as support representative teams.
To help the Hockey Association raise more much-needed funds, the yearly raffle has been extended and will be drawn on the Warwick Grand Final Day, Saturday, September 10.
Help support Warwick hockey by buying a ticket and going into the draw to win a $1000 WOW Sight and Sound voucher as first prize.
The second prize is a $500 voucher, while third prize is an AWA 19cm DVD/TV.
Fourth prize winner will receive two bicycles Mambo/Luxe and the fifth prize winner will enjoy a dinner for two at the Condamine Sports Club plus a bottle of wine.
Tickets are $5 and are available to be purchased up until that date by talking to any Warwick Hockey player, dropping into the Warwick Daily News office on Albion St.
Alternatively, call Phil Rolfe on 0403 402 594 or Sam Farrell on 0402 051 172.
With no playing surface in Warwick, players have been playing a social mixed comp in Warwick of a Saturday as well as travelling to Toowoomba to play in respective teams.
Leading into semis' week, Warwick Vets play Rangeville Thursday night, a number of Warwick Ladies play for Toowoomba team Past High who are playing Red Lions in A2 ladies semi Friday night and A3 ladies Warwick team will play Newtown Sunday.
