Rage costs man $1339

A DRUNKEN rampage that resulted in shop windows smashed and a house trashed has ended with a Warwick man being slapped with a jail sentence.

Christopher Bruce Winsor, 24, this week pleaded guilty in the Warwick Magistrates Court to public nuisance, wilful damage and breaching a domestic violence order.

He will not serve actual time behind bars for the incident.

The court heard a highly intoxicated Winsor became embroiled in an argument with two other men outside a licensed Warwick premises on the evening of December 7.

Police Prosecutor Steve de Lissa told the court the man became enraged and elbowed the window of a neighbouring shop, smashing the window and destroying goods.

Winsor then upturned furniture in several rooms of the house and police noted a child suffered distress.

Winsor was sentenced to 12 months jail but was paroled immediately.

He was also ordered to pay a total of $1339 restitution.
