Raids uncover stolen cutlery, drugs on Southern Downs

AN INGLEWOOD couple have racked up ten charges between them after two homes were allegedly broken into in the Southern Downs town.

Detectives from Goondiwindi worked with Inglewood police to raid two properties on Wednesday and allegedly recovered numerous items relating to two rural break and enters.

These items reportedly included silver cutlery, binoculars and tools.

About 540g of marijuana was also allegedly found, which had been packaged into a number of bags believed to be for distribution throughout the region.

The couple appeared at Inglewood Magistrates Court yesterday, both charged with supplying and possessing dangerous drugs as well as possessing property used in the commission of a crime.

A 27-year-old man was also charged with two counts of break and enter, while the 24-year-old woman had been charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

Their cases were adjourned and they will reappear at Warwick Magistrates Court at a date yet to be set.

Both the man and woman have been released on bail.
