List of closed roads due to flooding
IF IT'S FLOODED, FORGET IT: The Junabee Road creek crossing near Yangan-Killarney Rd was closed to traffic after heavy rain transformed it into a torrent of water. Casandra Garvey
THE Condamine River in Warwick was expected to peak at around five metres last night with no threat to buildings, after the region received rainfall of more than 100mm in places in the 24 hours to 9am yesterday.
Southern Downs Regional Council Local Disaster Co-ordinator Peter See late yesterday said council crews had been "assessing and monitoring" the situation since early yesterday morning.
"It must be emphasised that this is classed as a minor flood and with the prediction of little to no rain over the weekend we expect it will recede fairly quickly,"
Mr See said during council inspections some roads had evidence of scours across them and trees down.
"If you come across a fallen tree, debris or water over the road, please contact Council on 1300 MY SDRC."
There is a possibility of moderate flooding at Pratten during the weekend as the major fresh continues to travel down the Condamine catchment.
