Rain hits along the ranges on the Southern Downs

THERE was 10mm and 60mm rain in a storm this afternoon at Killarney.

Killarney was under the rain and hail on a Sunday afternoon three weeks ago but this time there were no reports of hail in the area.

Daily News Killarney correspondent John Towells said he was taking a photo of the clouds when a bolt of lightning sizzled nearby.

"The lightning and thunder made me move,” Mr Towells said.

While there was 15mm in the town of Killarney, there was 60mm at the town's waste facility within sight of the town.

East of Warwick at The Hermitage Research Station, there was 3.6mm today after a recording of 1.8mm in the 24 hours to 9am today.
