Rain still forecast but hopes for big falls downgraded

THE big rain everyone was talking about is not coming - unless you are under a storm next week.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Michelle Berry said a south to south easterly change would hit the Warwick area later today.

"There is some potential for isolated storms but they are more likely in the Dalby, Toowoomba, Inglewood and Millmerran areas. There could be some drizzle in the Warwick area later today,” she said.

What the change will do is cool conditions.

The minimum temperatures in the past three days have been up to five degrees above the December average of 15.6 degrees.

It was 20.5 on Friday, 18.5 Saturday and 19.1 early today.

Ms Berry said there could be storms west on Warwick on Monday and the chance of showers and isolated storms in the Warwick area Tuesday and Wednesday and possibly Thursday.

The storms will be isolated and Ms Berry said she was not expecting good general rain across the Warwick area in the next few days.
