Rain threat this weekend

THE heavens are set to open this weekend and it looks like Warwick is in for a wet Australia Day.

Weather forecaster Andrew Cameron said the Rose City would definitely be damp.

"There are, will be, scattered showers this afternoon which will continue through to Saturday and Sunday," Mr Cameron said.

"There will be between 20 to 40mm in some locations around Warwick.

"The rain will begin to ease on Monday afternoon when the tropical low heads south and out to sea."

This year's Condamine Cup Australia Day Cricket Carnival organiser Colin O'Brien said updates about the conditions of the fields could be found online.

"If it does rain, games will have to be put on hold," Mr O'Brien said.

"If people they want up to date information about conditions they can check out our Facebook page.

"We will also contact the team organisers directly if there are any problems."

Live information about the cricket carnival can be found on the Warwick Cricket Associations Facebook page.
