Rains (almost) here...decent rainfall forecast for Warwick
WARWICK is out of the firing line for intense flooding expected to inundate western Queensland over the next few days, but decent rainfall is on the way.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist David Crock said there would be isolated showers today and tomorrow, before heavier rainfall sets in.
"There should be some good rain and showers around the place on Sunday and Monday as a lot of the tropical moisture that's up north of the state will be dragged to the south east,” Mr Crock said.
"Monday looks like the worst day in the forecast period, there should be a fair bit of moisture.”
"There is a risk of flash flooding if you get some heavier rain or a storm.”
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted 8-20mm will fall on Sunday and 8-25mm on Monday.
The rain will also bring cooler temperatures as Sunday is expected to reach 29 degrees and a top of 25 degrees is predicted for Monday
Today and tomorrow the temperature is expected to reach 30 degrees.
"As that moisture and cloud comes down from the north west, those temperatures will drop off,” Mr Crock said.
