Rascals close to full strength for finals clash with Inglewood

CRICKET: Railway Hotel Rascals will be close to full strength for the reserve- grade qualifying final against Inglewood at Slade Park today at 12.30pm.

Rascals said all players were available except Matthew Christensen who had a prior commitment.

"Joe Morris has work commitments but we are hoping he can make it to the game, even if he is a little bit late,” Johnson said.

"He is our opening bowler and took four wickets last week and is one of main batsmen.

"If Joe is out, it will put more pressure on Liam Duncan, who is in career best form with bat and ball.”

Johnson said James Moore had been making runs for Rascals in recent weeks after more being regarded as a bowler earlier in his career.

"He has now ticked the all- rounder box.”

Johnson said the major concern with Inglewood was their top order batsmen.

"Jamien Smith and Shane Hooper are real threats with the bat for Inglewood,” he said.

Rascals last made a grand final two years ago when they beat Allora by one run to win the grand final.

"We are keen to make it to our second grand final and if we do, we will play Allora again in a local derby on March 25.”
