Rascals paceman toast of Allora after outstanding effort

CRICKET: Jamie Holmes produced some of the best bowling of the season to destroy premiers Wheatvale in Saturday's Condamine Cup game at K.O. Masters Oval, Allora.

Batting first against Railway Hotel Rascals, Wheatvale was dismissed for 151 after a middle and late order batting collapse after openers Carter Bilbrough, 41, and Chris Malone, 40, added more than half the team's runs.

James Breen was the only other batsman to reach double figures when he scored 19.

Holmes was used as first change bowler and took 6-7 off 5.2 overs. He bowled five of his victims and had one caught behind by captain Brad Johnson.

The Rascals team from Allora didn't muck around with the run chase scoring 7-153 in 25.2 overs to win with more than 14 overs to spare.

Jake Christensen top scored with 60 and Joe Morris made 36.

Bilbrough was the best of the Wheatvale bowlers with 3-26 while James Breen and Alex Fessy took two wickets each.
