Rats at home today in crucial game in charge to finals

RUGBY UNION: Today, the Warwick Water Rats have their last fixture match of the season, going up against Roma Echidnas.

This is a must-win match for the Rats as it will solidify their place going into the finals.

The Warwick Rugby Union Club has a big day planned, with a number of games to be played.

There are schoolgirls' sevens games as a forerunner to the game between The Scots PGC College and the Toowoomba Anglican College and Preparatory School for the Ruthven Trophy.

The game against TACAPS will be played by a Years 9-10 team from each school.

Scots PGC won the Ruthven Trophy when it was played for the first time last season.

Golden Oldies rugby will be played from 2pm, with B grade from 2.30pm.

The Rats need a win to play at the start of the finals next weekend.

If Warwick makes the B-grade finals, it will be the first time since the early 2000s.

With hooker and captain Anthony Savovski back to full health and in the starting line-up, the Rats will look to fight through the Roma forward pack in what could be difficult conditions.

With the team's young halves playing better than ever, the Rats will look to put on a dominant display.

Admission is free.

Food and drinks will be available.
